Asier Garitano Aguirrezabal, known as Asier Garitano (Vergara, Guipúzcoa, Spain, December 6, 1969), is a former Spanish soccer player and coach. 

After his retirement as a soccer player, he returned to Alicante CF, where he was the second coach from the 2003/04 season until the 2008/09 season, coinciding with José Bordalás as the first coach between March 2004 and February 2006, passing also through teams such as Orihuela and Alcoyano. 

It is in 2013 where Asier Garitano coach of Leganes manages to promote the team Peinero to the Spanish second division.  Three years and making a sensational work he gets the promotion to the Spanish first division, being Asier an emblem for the city. 

After several years in charge of Leganes, he signed as a coach of the Real Sociedad in 2018, and in 2019 as a coach of Deportivo Alavés, excited to return to the bench and waiting for the opportunity to return to lead a team that gives him peace of mind to work.
