David Gordo
COACH UNDER 17 SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
Since May 2013, David Gordo Mansilla has been part of the technical team of the Spanish national team as a fitness trainer and assistant coach. However, the Madrid-born coach played a key role in the U-17 team’s last European Championship and World Cup runner-up.
At club level, David trained in the National League Championship in the Third Division in teams such as CD Móstoles and CA Pinto, in the Second Division B to CD Leganés, AD Alcorcón or Real Sociedad Deportiva Alcalá, and in terms of training, he coached the Real Madrid CF team in the Youth Honour Division category.
The Madrid-born coach will try to lay the foundations so that the young players can one day become absolute: “Part of my job is to show them the beginning of the road. It’s a big responsibility. It has to fill them with satisfaction and responsibility, always knowing that the U-16s are only a small step and have a long way to go. In addition, it is necessary to inculcate them with a series of values that the Royal Spanish Football Federation has always had”.
“For a 17-year-old boy, the important thing is to compete. It shouldn’t be worth it with talent alone.”
