Iraia Iturregi, historical ex-player of Athletic Club and current coach of the second red and white female team, won four league titles during her 15 seasons as a lioness,

The Loiutarra studied Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the UPV/EHU and was also a scholarship holder at Florida State University, where she played for a year in the university league (2005-2006). Her future was to go hand in hand with soccer and once she retired in 2017, she continued to train. In the 2018-2019 campaign she was responsible for the physical preparation of Athletic Club’s first women’s team. And this year she made her debut on the bench leading the Reto Iberdrola team with exceptional numbers. The branch was giving a great level (leaders in solo in the North group before the forced stop) and with players in charge who have debuted in First Division as Amaiur Sarriegi, Irene Oguiza and Naroa Uriarte.

In 2013, Iraia was chosen as the opening act for the Semana Grande de Bilbao. She was, and continues to be, a point of reference for sports girls in Bizkaia. She herself has in her hands the great responsibility and commitment to train the future lionesses.
