Joaquin Gomez began his career as a coach in 2016 in the UK after obtaining the UEFA Pro license, he decided to venture outside of Spain because he was attracted to English soccer. After 3 years in Luton Town FC and obtaining great results, Stoke City incorporated him to their ranks to be the coach of the subsidiary team.

In 2019 the call from Cartagena made him return to Spain to become the assistant coach of the first team.

He has now ventured abroad again to be the assistant coach of the Finnish national team and the assistant coach of SJK in the Finnish first division.
